We Could Be Heroes

Superheros, I love the mythology behind them and the larger than life characters they are and how they bring excitement and fantasy to an otherwise mudane, dreary and quite cynical world.

Anything involving superheroes will pique my curiosity and of course that includes films, games and all sorts. One of the more intriguing questions for superhero fans is Marvel or DC? I know some that like Marvel, I know some that like DC.

MCM Expo May 2013

Woo, the MCM expo was pretty cool, I made a point of making sure I was attending things I wanted to attend and not do what I did last time which was just wander around aimlessly I mean it's fun to wander aimlessly at these sort of events as there is always wacky stuff going on and that.

So the solution to that was to get a timetable and actually know what events were going to happen and plan the day around events I wanted to go to. Surprising for someone that adores video games I actually didn't play that many games there. It wasn't so much to do with the lack of decent games or anything like that as I still managed to play the soon to be released Deadpool game but it was then when I playing it, I was like...yeah I can't be bothered with this.

Dark Rainclouds Gather

So now I’m on holiday, woo. I’d be a little bit more excited but it’s just doesn’t feel right at least not right now. I’ve got such much stuff to do during this holiday, so many things to sort out and I’m also going to the MCM Expo this weekend so that’s going to be exciting times, I’m still a little bit unsure who I’m going with so that kind of sucks because I’m not sure who’s going, what day they’re going so it might be a case that I’ll be attending the majority of it or at least one day by myself again but it’ll still be fun regardless.

Today I’m not really in the greatest of moods simply because it’s the funeral of a close neighbour and a close friend of the family and yeah it was kind of depressing seeing my mum and sister get ready to go to the funeral because it’s going to be a sad event and I just know that as I sit here recording this they’ll come back in tears they’ll be crying and I’ll just won’t know what to say, what to do or anything like that.

King Lawliet

Introducing King Lawliet

Anime and manga is also something that interests me greatly, again a lot of this is probably due to the fact that I watched a fair few as a child, you know the regular ones like Pokémon...oh Pokémon, still love it to bits now, probably the games more than the actual show or anything but still.

Then you had your Dragonball Z which was huge, I think everybody must have watched that at some point. Goku was probably the most popular character but since I tend to have an aversion to main characters he was anything but that to myself. Oh noo no noooo, my favourite back then was Trunks or to be more accurate Future Trunks, guy had a badass sword when he entered the scene and pretty much took down Frieza in one go, something that Goku and the prince of Saiyans Vegeta himself couldn't do, speaking of Vegeta now I'd probably say he is my favourite now, maybe I'll go into more later but moving on.

How did I go this long without attending one of these?

This weekend I attended my first ever expo, the London MCM expo and it was quite an event.

For me it was never really about the guests or presentations that was going on and that as I already know how I feel about "celebrities" and there wasn't reeeally any presentations that I was interested in other than the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 one which I attended today. No no, it was always going to be about the occasion and the atmosphere there which did not disappoint me.

People came dressed as all sorts of characters at it was quite fun at trying to recognise all the different characters that showed up and seeing all the good cosplay (and the bad ones as well) that people did.
