One of the more intriguing questions for superhero fans is Marvel or DC? I know some that like Marvel, I know some that like DC.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>Personally I couldn't say I have a preference but as of late I have been enjoying my fair share of DC with Injustice, watching the Batman film, getting the New 52 collection which I eagerly anticipate reading. I look through my collections and I notice how I've actually got more DC than Marvel and by that I really mean Batman who would be among my favourites superheroes/villain along with Zatanna and Bane and Black Adam <p>Actually, I don't think I have any Marvel comics which thinking about it is strange because my favourite story would be the X-Men series, whether it was the old X-Men show on Fox, X-Men Evolution on Cartoon Network through to the X-Men films and the later X-Men First Class. <p>I really want to get a compendium or omnibus or whatever that has the whole story like how they did it with Batman Knight Fall or The Walking Dead rather than read the comics individually and end up paying a fortune for them. <p>I remember reading about some of the stories on Wikipedia so I understood the general gist of it and I'd then want to read the actual story because the premise just sounded so interesting. I still yearn to get and read House of M and Decimation, Messiah Complex, Days Of Future Past although that story is being adapted for the big screen so I'll get to watch that at least. <p>Not only that but I really enjoyed Iron Man so I would like to read more but again, only if I can find a collection rather than the individual comic, like at the MCM expo I saw plenty of Marvel comics...well I say plenty, there wasn't that many of them and along with that I felt that the price that they were asking was a bit too dear for my tastes so a lot of the times I pass. I did see an Age of Apocalypse collection which was an X-Men storyline I think it was at one of the stands at the London Film and Comic con last year but I had to pass because they were asking in excess of a hundred pounds so that was always going to be a no. <p>I'm still keen on finding collections at decent prices and like I said before I've got the New 52 which I see mentioned a fair few times in the Injustice game so I'm looking forward to reading all this. But until next time, King Lawliet out</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-20570760716655502262013-06-07T11:06:00.001+01:002013-06-07T11:06:40.059+01:00Just sometimes<p>Sometimes I wish I wasn’t such a dick. Surprising for someone that adores video games I actually didn't play that many games there. It wasn't so much to do with the lack of decent games or anything like that as I still managed to play the soon to be released Deadpool game but it was then when I playing it, I was like...yeah I can't be bothered with this. </p> <a name='more'></a> <p>I queued up for about 20 minutes just to get five minutes on it and even then I didn't use the whole 5 minutes because I had lost the desire to play and I was thrust in the middle of someone else's playthrough meaning I had little to no clue as to what to do and I was NOT going to spend my time trying to figure it out. <p>So when that happened I was like yeah I'm not doing this queuing thing especially if I'm by myself, I'm only going to really want to do that at Eurogamer for games I really really really want to play. <p>I still managed to play a fair few other games such as Game and Wario on the Wii-U and I have to say that I'm liking the Wii-U more and more in comparision to the PS4 and the Xbox One. I briefly played a demo of the 3DS game Project X Zone but the demo was so limited in what I could do so I gave up and moved on. Besides, it's got a whole bunch of Tekken characters in it, it's an RPG yeah I know I'm going to get it anyway, no point in me continuing with it. Those were the only three games I played in the course of the 3 days. <p>There were a bunch of other things to do as well and I spent my time doing and watching various things such I went to this Beginners class on how to draw manga characters which was cool but it focused more on how to colour in already drawn characters so while interesting it didn't really help me. <p>There were a bunch of events going on the game stage such as game presentations and Q&A for The Last Of Us which is an PS3 exclusive by Naughty Dog, you know, the ones who made Uncharted: Drakes Fortune which I’ve got to play at some point...and more importantly Crash Bandicoot! The game itself is looking gorgeous and they played a bit of the first 'level' for want of a better word and while I don't think anything new was shown the game is looking more and more awesome whenever I see it. This is one PS3 game I'm buying at release. <p>I also saw Lego Marvel Super Heroes which they played the first level and to be honest with you there's not much to be said about it asides that it looks alright and I'd buy it and see how it goes from there. <p>I also did a bunch of other stuff like I went to a question and answer panel on the webcomic Homestuck where people would answer questions about anything and they'd do it in character. I'm stuck in early days in the webcomic so a fair few of the jokes went sailing over my head but regardless is was a very fun atmosphere and it was a very positive vibe, only criticism of it and something I tend to notice a lot is how people don't speak into the microphone properly, for me it kinda ruined it as some people weren't speaking into it meaning no one could hear what was being said. <p>I also went to this How to make a Webseries/30 minute film school thing where while it was more for film buffs and that but it was still very interesting and the presentation was very well done. Also Mr Weebl gave a very interesting talk about all sorts and we got to preview his latest videos on his channel. I walked in his presentation and I was like 'Oh yeah, this is the same guy that did Badger, Badger, Badger and Amazing Horse', Pretty cool. <p>Finally I also went to a Merlin panel which had the guy who played Percival in it, I forget his name (look it up) and Modred. Gawaine was supposed to be there but he bailed out so it was just the two of them answering questions and it was good because it wasn't like they were bored or going through the motions, they were actually entertaining answering questions as best as they can and being electric. <p>Anyway the weekend was a great one and while I'm hoping to go in October it will depend on a lot of things like who I'm going with and what events are actually going to be there but we'll see. That's all I have to say about the MCM expo for now so until next time, King Lawliet out.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-19682369961638043992013-05-22T17:49:00.001+01:002013-05-22T17:49:24.525+01:00Dark Rainclouds Gather<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:72fdad6d-dea5-4b58-8ea3-e1803305a5d5" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="bc5a8d0e-809e-48da-a410-92c7339b1387" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgfARoIFDTc" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiComwhMy4yoRAKWM-ZPLSkG2SLXwC90GXkhCGNOxXseEZNMnTkRfUnjZAZ8bonPr8GaFdSKYOFdNvT5TVmQWGMHlfUNafxQUbEDPsNEiKhK8RshAuQO0YWkhzeCbdagJQRSPx0ZFS0TWAM/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('bc5a8d0e-809e-48da-a410-92c7339b1387'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/cgfARoIFDTc?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/cgfARoIFDTc?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>So now I’m on holiday, woo. I’d be a little bit more excited but it’s just doesn’t feel right at least not right now. I’ve got such much stuff to do during this holiday, so many things to sort out and I’m also going to the MCM Expo this weekend so that’s going to be exciting times, I’m still a little bit unsure who I’m going with so that kind of sucks because I’m not sure who’s going, what day they’re going so it might be a case that I’ll be attending the majority of it or at least one day by myself again but it’ll still be fun regardless. <p>Today I’m not really in the greatest of moods simply because it’s the funeral of a close neighbour and a close friend of the family and yeah it was kind of depressing seeing my mum and sister get ready to go to the funeral because it’s going to be a sad event and I just know that as I sit here recording this they’ll come back in tears they’ll be crying and I’ll just won’t know what to say, what to do or anything like that.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>I didn’t go myself because truthfully I just can’t do things like that. The energy in the air is going to be solemn and depressing and when that happens it’s just going to affect me negatively, when I’m in a negative mood things rarely ever finish well for me so…yeah…that’s kind of why my mum didn’t ask me to go, she understands this but I did make a point of acknowledging what day it was today so she knows that I know <p>Like ten minutes before I was doing all this I went out to get some hayfever tablets because bleh and I just felt so down, I just kept thinking about the area that I was in, the people that were around me in this area and let’s just say that they weren’t positive thoughts but I suppose that’s just the sort of person that I am and I try to avoid things like that because I know that it doesn’t really help me or anything like that but I know that one day that I’m just going to crack and it’s not going to be pretty……I suppose that’s why this is called “While I’m Sane” after all but yeah <p>There are still positive things in life, I’ve got the MCM expo to look forward to, I’ve got two pairs of iD shoes coming in, university, I’ve got some awesome friends as well and I’m still alive and sane, so that’s good. <p>Anyway that’s all for now, I best be getting on with some of these important stuff that I really should be getting on with because I’ve been putting off for quite some time so yeah…take care.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-70413466552451576572013-05-19T09:06:00.001+01:002013-05-19T09:06:41.560+01:00Too many voices, not enough action<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:936e81a2-3730-44dc-bd49-edfce8b53573" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="45fc2e00-2e89-4ed7-b977-bea1357bb711" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD4sqKyWwWw" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaUk0FKjjg01FjuizddJhlZO6DxK9vdHlCKaZ72a2SbdOKlLz9HH-LdIiFVbBb4oBe9KZwqqVQA_w6tdyc3HIxakN-zUqhsUymLWLJIKc_j8ANfkzoTy-jOOe0_skyhfupaUQ2bn-j6Rl_/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('45fc2e00-2e89-4ed7-b977-bea1357bb711'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/gD4sqKyWwWw?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/gD4sqKyWwWw?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>Ahhh I think that match sums up our season really, good spells and the potential is there but ultimately if a little bit more application and effort is shown by certain people then we would do so much better. <p>The final score today was 3-3 and also of note is how I finally scored after however many games it was but as always I forget about those goals as quickly as I score them and focus on the chances I missed. <p>I wanted to win but it was apparent from the kickoff that not everyone shared my sentiments as the attitude of some players in the squad is poor. Next year that has got to stop, as I said in my last Samba Magician video I know what I'll be doing to improve myself and that's the attitude a lot of people don't seem to take. They seem to think they are faultless and blameless but it's often the ones who think that aren't really.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>Players still remain too static when I'm in possession of the ball, also they do not make intelligent runs. But let's not put the entire blame on them because lately I've not been threading the passes as well as I used to and I’ll work on that but sorry to say this but I find myself not being able to trust a fair few of you to do the right thing with it and not waste it, case in point, their third goal came when ten minutes left to go we were 3-2 up and we had a corner, I notice that nobody instantly came for the short corner just so we could waste some time which I was disappointed in, people really have got to think and react quicker. Anyway I crunch some numbers in my head and spy a player on the edge of the box unmarked with the nearest defender some ways away and instantly pass the ball to him as I had done so earlier in the game with Ryan Hill. Oh good the ball was perfect, we had the element of surprise, just shoot...oh god he's backing off...what wait stop backing off, come to the ball, come to the ball, there's a defender behind you, take the shot dammit...nope...took too long and the counter attack lead to them getting a corner and then them proceeding to score from it...though it was an own goal...sometimes I wonder if I place too much trust in some people. <p>So really you guys need to step up your game, if only just to force me to do so as well. I try my best no matter what but it does seem a bit futile when I run about and then see another player walk around like they're having a casual Sunday morning stroll and it makes me think why bother. <p>Next year will be different, three quarters of the players in this league are junk and that always boosts my confidence however football is a team game so that really means nothing. <p>But let's end on a positive note though and what made me smile asides my goal was when we were 3-2 up with time running out, the ball found its way back to our goalkeeper who naturally didn't pick it up and I was thinking "cool, why pick it up straight away" and then he starts to do stepovers in an effort to mock the other team. I didn't say anything but I was quite amused and disappointed with that. "Is it because it shows a lack of respect to the other team?" Oh no no no no no no nooo, I was disappointed because Tommy didn't do the step overs properly. I was just thinking, listen son if you're going to do something like that go the whole way and do it with some conviction, you can't be an entertainer if you go into these things half arsed. There's a lesson for you. <p>Anyhoo that's it, ladies and gentlemen I am the Samba Magician, accept no substitutes.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-91455590681096332172013-05-18T10:00:00.001+01:002013-05-18T10:00:05.997+01:00Extreme Rules Predictions<p> <div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:da357068-131d-4f49-bf8c-55db181520b3" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="4df2c136-d6a5-4423-aa8d-e1ed1df48662" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g673063dDHU" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFpPGHVUSpTEy-2cpDBdbraYMZ2FoLHnXE7OaaQHL1uesp27W2mSx-MY4BcZu0rV23bvlZ5IHU14QCXSF-LH_Bn3gSMVPY_cin_p1HWkDMmfr6tqwRi04U9it3OU16xw7UH-ZMjvedaHda/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('4df2c136-d6a5-4423-aa8d-e1ed1df48662'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/g673063dDHU?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/g673063dDHU?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div></p> <p>Extreme Rules predictions <p>So Extreme Rules is fast approaching and pretty soon the pay per view that follows the granddaddy of them all will be upon us. <p>Let's have a look at the match card and allow me to present to you my views on it. This is in no particular order so with that being said let's start off with the pre-show</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>The Miz vs Cody Rhodes- Preshow <p>The Miz who made his return on Monday Night Raw from filming his straight to DVD film...I...uh have no idea what it is called because I don't care. He'll take on Cody Rhodes who seems to be doing nothing as of note lately asides jobbing. There's no story line build up to this as it was announced on Monday Night Raw like...John Cena mimics Ryback's heavy breathing...Oh by the way The Miz will take on Cody Rhodes on the Extreme Rules preshow...oh look Primetime Players won, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. <p>So I expect a Miz victory here probably from Cody tapping out to the Figure 4. This really just seems like a throwaway match as there's nothing on the line for either of them so it's not going to be that interesting. <p>Randy Orton vs Big Show- Extreme Rules Match <p>Another match that I couldn't care less about, nothing really to do with who is involved but more to do with the basis of the feud, I mean correct me if I'm wrong but it's over the fact that Big Show punched Randy AFTER their tag match against the Shield was over because Randy and Sheamus kept tagging each other in and out the match and essentially ignored Big Show throughout as they didn't trust the Big Show and were worried that he might turn on them and attack them or something. Well gee golly Randy I think you need to look up the meaning of a 'self-fulfilling prophecy’. As for the match I'm seeing a Randy Orton victory after an RKO from out of nowhere, I'm not sure about future storylines for either of these characters but it's not looking to be interesting <p>Sheamus vs Mark Henry- Strap Match <p>My hidden gem. I'm thinking that this'll be the standout match of the night or at least a very good match. Mark Henry's trash talking has been epic as of late "Whup you like you stole something boy". His demonstration of how you win a strap match on Josh Matthews was hilarious and just shows just how vicious he can be. However I'm feeling like all of this is just set up for Sheamus to display his strength when he drags Mark Henry's body around all four corners and then you'll hear Michael Cole getting excited on commentary going "OH MY GOD, THAT IS 400 POUNDS, HE IS LITERALLY DRAGGING HIM AROUND THE RING...LITERALLY"...while people like me are just staring at the screen like......"Shut up Cole". <p>Hmm, I would have said as soon as they announced this match that it's clearly a Sheamus win but after Mark Henry beating the Ryback at WrestleMania I now have my doubts. I feel the finish will be something like Sheamus Brogue kicks Mark Henry and then proceeds to drag him around 3 corners and then come close to the final one but at this point Mark Henry stirs and then gets up, the match continues and Mark Henry performs his World's Strongest Slam or something like that and drags Sheamus and wins. Hopefully this then propels him to be involved in the WWE title scene like he should have been after he beat the Ryback which confuses me but brings me to the next match <p>John Cena vs Ryback- Last Man Standing <p>Ryback Ryback Ryyyyback, all those PPV losses has hurt his credibility to be a serious threat, he's had two title match chances, both of which I feel were undeserved and the first I felt that the moment The Rock announced that he'd be facing the WWE champion at the Royal Rumble that there was no way that it'd be The Rock vs The Ryback as it just didn't seem as big as a draw than The Rock vs CM Punk or even The Rock vs John Cena for a second time. <p>So now that the Ryback has his second opportunity for the title against John Cena do I think he has a chance? I really don't know, I think the original intention was to either have The Rock drop the belt to Cena at Extreme Rules or to have The Rock invoke his rematch clause and then again lose to Cena but injury cut that angle short, so the Ryback has now been thrust yet again into the title picture a little too early, even turned heel in the process which I don't really agree was the right decision but there you go. I don't think the Ryback is a bad heel or anything and people saying that he's awful are just hating on him without solid justification as I felt some of the heel promos he's done has been great especially the promo with Mick Foley where he was menacing and yet had valid points so it wasn't like he was just being ignorant and stupid. It's clearly a case of attacking the man and not the point when it comes to the hatred of the Ryback. <p>As for the match itself, it's a Last Man Standing match which I think will be interesting because I think the Ryback will take the brute force approach where he'll just beat the hell out of John Cena and stand over him in an effort to show that he's superior, I think every time John Cena gets up the Ryback will simply just beat him down with Shellshocks, Meathook Clothesline maybe even some weapons like chairs thrown in. John Cena however I feel will show his “Never Give Up” attitude and will ultimately win but there is no way John Cena will force the Ryback to stay down for the ten count on his own power or anything like that so I feel John Cena will resort to perhaps burying him under a whole load of chairs, ladders, announcer tables, that sort of stuff so the Ryback can't move. I'd say duct tape too but they've already used that finisher with the last Last Man Standing Match. Either way it'll be a victory where they try and portray John Cena as cunning and a genius along the lines of Albertoooo Einstein for beating the Ryback and keeping him down and so continues Cena's yearlong title reign. <p>HHH vs Brock Lesnar- Steel Cage <p>The match that nobody really wanted however I'm not going to lie, the last Raw did go some ways in restoring a bit of interest in the match especially when Hunter Hearst Helmsley commented on Paul Heyman's client Brock Lesnar feeling like he is the baddest man around and yet Heyman himself doesn't really believe that and I felt that was interesting because I know he was simply just trying to goad him into getting in the cage with him but I was like "Okay, this could go somewhere". <p>As for the match itself I think it’ll have to go above and beyond to show us something that we haven’t seen before from the last two matches but I’m thinking that there may be a fair bit of blood here, I know, I know it’s not PG but without blood then it makes Heyman’s initial comment about how it’s time to get old school and extreme and downright dirty pointless. I also think that Brock Lesnar will win but this is more to do with the fact that he has to otherwise I’m looking at this big massive contract that he’s signed with high pay and limited appearances and I’m thinking it’s going to be a waste if you have him lose because then he can’t really be taken as a credible threat with a record of 1 win to 3 losses since returning but you see that’s just logic talking here, I have no idea how HHH’s mind works and what his ego will do but I’m going to stick with a Brock Lesnar win. <p>Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger- I Quit Contenders Match <p>The match I was actually most looking forward to…that is when it was a Triple Threat Ladder Match, now it’s an ‘I Quit’ match which for all intent and purposes will essentially boil down to a submission match where instead of tapping out Jack Swagger will say “I Quit”. I say Jack Swagger because until he visibly gets punished for his DUI I really am never sure how far he can go or if he’ll win anything before then. Another reason I’m going with an Alberto Del Rio win from the Cross Arm breaker is that it’ll end up being a face vs heel confrontation with Dolph Ziggler which makes more sense than a heel vs heel matchup with Swagger and Ziggler. <p>Personally I would have had Ziggler or someone name Big E Langston as an interim champion and go ahead with the ladder match but have Big E Langston successfully defend it and then you have a plethora of avenues to explore from there like have Big E Langston give the belt back to Ziggler and say nothing more about it but he could be growing resentful about it, have him refuse to hand the belt back and have a feud between Ziggler and Langston with either people being able to be the face or heel in this scenario. I can only imagine that the reason why this wasn’t taken was because officials must have thought Big E Langston was too green or whatever but if the Ryback can get a WWE title shot after crushing jobbers why can’t the Ryblack defend Ziggler’s title and make him champion but not really the champion? <p>Kofi Kingston vs Dean Ambrose- US Title Match <p>Well this sort of came out of nowhere, umm, I’d like to think that they are giving Kofi a push by giving him the belt but…yeah I don’t think…or rather I hope WWE do not waste The Shield’s current momentum and that they give them belts to hang on to right now so they can take it to the next level rather than growing stale and directionless. Kofi Kingston and Dean Ambrose should put on an interesting match and I’m going to say Dean Ambrose win with help from his Shield buddies who will run interference. For me Antonio Cesaro has already brought a lot of it back but hopefully Dean Ambrose can bring a lot more prestige back into the United States Championship. <p>Chris Jericho vs Fandango <p>Really? Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler feuding just seemed right as Ziggler was getting prepared to go for a World Heavyweight title run and their clash just seemed a lot more interesting than Fandango and his dancing shtick. Personally if Chris Jericho isn’t going to be given one last run as a champion or something in fact I’d rather he feuded with Wade Barrett if only to bring prestige back to the Intercontinental Championship and at the same time, try to get Barrett over because right now Barrett is doing jack…he even lost to Sin Cara on Main Event for crying out loud. But alas we’re stuck with this, this…travesty of a matchup. After their match at WrestleMania which I didn’t think was anything special I think they’ll put on a better match but it’s like saying getting your arm chopped off is better than getting your leg chopped off, it’s still going to be bad. I see Chris Jericho getting the win by getting Fandango to tap but with Fandango then giving him a beat down after the match and then possibly leading to a match on Raw where he’ll get the win back a bit like what they did with the Ziggler feud. <p>I also wanted to mention how awesome is was when Y2J gave a callback to his time as the ‘Musical Chairs’ champion and how won ‘Price is Raw’ and how he “outsmarted” Bob Barker, that was funny. <p>Team Hell No vs The Shield- Texas Tornado Tag Match <p>As I mentioned earlier about the Shield’s momentum I’m going to add another point and that is it’s either going to be a clean sweep or they’ll win nothing. I can see the storyline potential in one match ending in a win and the other a loss however it can only lead to The Shield falling apart and breaking up and I don’t think that’s the route they’ll want to take just yet so therefore it’s going to be a Shield win here and they’ll do what the Rhodes Scholars should have done at the Royal Rumble. So what next for Team Hell No? I wouldn’t have them split up just yet if only just to have more serious competitors in the tag team division that can pose a legitimate threat to The Shield, The Usos seem to be getting some push what with their appearances as of late but I don’t think that’s enough, I think more serious tag teams are needed if you are going to give Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins a credible title reign as fighting off Tons of Funk, 3MB, Primo and Epico and to some extent Prime Time Players isn’t really going to cut it. <p>That’s it for my Extreme Rules predictions, just before I finish I’ll make some other quick predictions as well. <p>When will the Spanish announcer table break? <p>Probably in the Tornado Tag Match with The Shield performing some move to Kane or Bryan Danielson through it <p>Will Christian return? <p>No. <p>Will CM Punk return? <p>No, still too early for that <p>How many times will the WWE App be mentioned? <p>24 times <p>Anyway that is all for this entry, hopefully Extreme Rules will be exciting but until then “THAT’S WHAT I DO!”</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-7795067791769800612013-05-15T10:36:00.001+01:002013-05-15T10:36:37.793+01:00The Next Generation<p> <div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:3d954810-d9d6-45d7-8006-ac0638e142c6" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="f5c6b7a2-616c-4e62-a676-c0bedff62813" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jJ3nD2sVZ8" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtBuCcG2k0GCPDnYP5tpAu4U6Le1qicQXSL4RZxZbE0Yo2UZrRHvlFVVSWnqn3yoNgwGI-l8-z0QfKFbZoTE-y80BAg81_hP_cyRf_OWILPRQdTtXOZIMx48Ww1Y-CnrvAec_l2l8CK1J5/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('f5c6b7a2-616c-4e62-a676-c0bedff62813'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/0jJ3nD2sVZ8?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/0jJ3nD2sVZ8?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div></p> <p>The next generation of consoles already started with the Wii-U but let's face it, I hardly care about the Wii-U, it's not like the Wii before it where I was intrigued by it and that I had to purchase it as it'd be the only way to play the latest Super Smash Brothers and that was all I really wanted to play at the time. <p>I didn't get the Wii at release date but a bit afterwards but well in advance of the Super Smash Brothers Brawl release date just so I was ready and prepared for when it came out. I do not feel this with the Wii-U, maybe part of it is because there isn't an actual release date for the Wii-U edition of the popular franchise but I feel a large part is due to the fact that for me the Wii-U is extremely underwhelming and doesn't really have any real stand out reason for me to go and purchase one right now. Sure, it has Zombi U which does actually look interesting to me and I played a bit at Eurogamer and it's worth a look at but I really don't want to be getting a console again just for one real game again, I want it to already have a plethora of great titles and must have games, something that personally I feel the Wii-U fails at.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>So that leaves the PS4 and the NeXtbox and the decision is a pretty easy one for once as I will opt to go for both of them (maybe not at the same time though) which means the question is which do I play more often and to be honest there is never an easy answer to this. In terms of my top consoles at the end of every generation it was the Mega Drive, PS1, PS2 (though I absolutely adored the Gamecube) and then the Xbox 360 so maybe I'll go back the PS4 for this generation but again it depends on a lot of things. <p>The deciding factor in a lot of this will be the exclusive games each console gets, right now it's seeming like the NeXtbox has my vote because Left 4 Dead, Forza and many others are just great games that are going to be on that console plus I've considered certain franchises a must get and Final Fantasy and Tekken are some that are amongst that list. If they are exclusive to the PS4 then so be it, that's what I'll get. <p>The key date is May 21<sup>st</sup> because that is when Microsoft are planning to reveal their new console so when May 21<sup>st</sup> then I shall probably have a better idea as to what to do when it comes to choosing the console. <p>Anyway that’s all for this entry, this is the Silver Assassin signing out, over and out.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-5767479786709348062013-05-13T11:20:00.001+01:002013-05-13T11:20:01.040+01:00Time to get Extreme<p>Trying to work out how to do this WWE Extreme Rules predictions video seeing as Dean is going to be involved but thinking about whether we should play WWE 13 in the background or something. Oh yes, it was that good! <p>...Just a shame that the hat trick was scored by the other team...and to tell the truth I have no idea whether they actually scored 4 goals or 5 goals or whether someone else actually got their hat trick as well. <p>Yeah, we lost...badly <p>I also heard after the match that this was actually our worst ever defeat and boy were we setting records when they scored 15 goals past us with no response whatsoever.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>But allow me to be cereal for a second... what was that? Do you honestly have no pride? Yes I fully expected us to lose from the start and yes David I know we’ve talked about this but this doesn't mean that I was going to just roll over and make it easy for them. But when you turn up to the pitch and you see we only had 10 players and nearly everyone else just fighting for themselves and some are just looking out for themselves it's hard to see anything but a loss. <p>Some of you really do need to take a look at yourselves and ask what can you do to better yourselves because giving up when you are losing 14-0, 2-0, 3-0, 100-0 is NOT the way to go. <p>Too many of you persist with the same mistakes over and over, too many of you do not do anything to fix those mistakes. With that being said what right do the same people have to comment on what others do? What right do you have to comment and negatively criticise those people for any mistake that they make. <p>I understand that some people just aren't good at dribbling and some people aren't fast, some people just aren’t great at passing and I understand that and I will never ever have a go at you if you mess up because of that, I will just merely encourage you to keep fighting just that little bit more, to run just that little bit further because just that tiny bit will make a huge difference not only for the team but for yourselves. <p>So just doing that tiny bit will indeed help you but there is only so much I can do for you. Next season though we may actually possibly have a weaker squad because some people I know are actually leaving and they’re actually just finishing with our team yet I'm going to stay, why is that? Simply because I want to help you to change your mentality because I want to make you better players and whether that means giving you advice or training with you I will help you anyway that I can because I am going to step up even more for next year. <p>But you need to give me something, you need to want it for yourself as well. At times I get abuse from my own teammates, like today I even got called thick and I couldn't help but laugh at that because their ignorance was clearly showing then because when you put me on a football pitch, thick is NOT a word that you would use to describe me. <p>I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do, we’ve got two more games, one next week against the same team hopefully we'll put in a better performance and then we’ve got one the week after which I won't be attending as that's when the MCM Expo is and then there is some 5 a side tournament on the 1<sup>st</sup> of June and I'll probably be attending that. That being said, what then? I talk to my co-workers about this and a lot of them say the same thing and it all make sense really, After all this is finished I'm going to take a two maybe three week break and then I'm getting back into training before preseason training starts so whether that's playing 5 a side with random people or whatever or simply going to the gym I'm going to do it. <p>Why? Because I want to be ready, simple as that. I look at myself now and I think I could probably lose a bit more weight. In school I was pretty skinny due to excess football but it made me faster and a heck of a lot more agile but after my knee injury I kind of put on more weight than I wanted and it just made things tougher for me, I’ve lost a fair bit of that but I could stand to lose a bit more but I noticed that I was a lot more stronger and I could hold people off easily than I could back in my school days but I want to get back to using my maximum speed and agileness but this isn't going to just happen just like that, this is something that I’m going to have to work hard for and I’m prepared for that so I'm going to lay off all that junk food, I’m going exercise more, I’m going to do more training, hopefully for preseason I'll be ready...no...I know I will be ready... the question is...... are you? <p>Ladies and gentlemen I am the Samba Magician, accept no substitutes. Why was I not informed of this, I would have loved to have read it and got a heck of a lot more background information on the game and what was happening but hey...it sure as hell did not affect my enjoyment of the game whatsoever. <p>I recently bought myself Injustice: Gods Among Us which is a beat 'em up, a fighting game on a 2D plane in the mold of Mortal Kombat and personally asides Tekken and Super Smash Brothers I'm not really what you would call a fighting game enthusiast, I mean sure I got Marvel vs Capcom 3 but that was mainly because IT'S FREAKING MARVEL, why wouldn't I want to play as the likes of Iron Man, Magneto, Deadpool and FRICKING CAPCOM who had Christopher Redfield, Tron Bonne and Viewtiful Joe so I was always going to get it but hoooo boy, beginner friendly? I think NOT! It might have just been me but it also didn't help that the story wasn't that brilliant or that memorable. <p>I notice that I don't really know a single person that actually enjoys fighting games and perhaps that's due to the complexity of the games and things such as juggles, turtling, tech rolls, frame data, recovery frames and general advanced stuff like that, I think it can make it very overwhelming and not fun to play especially when you get matched up against someone that does know all about it and it becomes a bit of a mismatched competition. <p>I also think that fights can sometimes just not be aesthetically pleasing especially when you watch experts against each other, there are certain exceptions like if you've ever seen the ending of Daigo’s Ken massive comeback vs Justin Wong’s Chun-Li because that right there, that was a thing of beauty and understand the difficulty of what he did but for the most part the fights aren't that exciting and just resort to people dashing, cancelling and repeating the same few moves over and over when you’d want a little more variety and it just looks...like more of a game and less of an actual fight. <p>I don’t get this with Injustice, the moves and cinematic during fights make it feel like it's a proper superhero battle, the transitions between levels in stages all adds to the experience and makes it feel a lot more engaging as do the super moves that each character has, I especially love the whole over the top feel that they have to it especially Doomsday’s and Aquaman’s supermove, the clash battles also add to it as well but they do feel a bit gimmicky and I could do without it, I don’t remember ever initiating one, it was always the computer that forced one. <p>The story in itself was quite interesting and involves an alternate dimension which instantly gives you the reason why Batman is fighting the likes of Superman, Flash and Nightwing and similiar confrontations like that. Superman is pretty much running the alternate dimension with an iron fist after a major casualty and it does bring up some questions like what happens when the strongest entity isn't fighting for "your side" anymore. You do see some pretty interesting stuff and decisions taken by some of the characters especially Superman, I would have like to have seen how this world is viewed in the eyes of ordinary civilians but I suppose that’s something that can’t really be done in a game such as this without making the story mode feel long and dragged out. <p>There are a bunch of other modes like a S.T.A.R.S Labs mode which is like a challenge mode where you fight with certain stipulations which seems fun, I haven't really gotten that far into that yet but I enjoyed Super Smash Brother’s Melee’s challenge mode especially Super Mario 128 so I imagine I’ll enjoy the S.T.A.R.S Labs a great deal. There's a battle mode where you can do the classic fighting game formula and fight random 8 superheroes or villains before fighting the big bad in Superman and of course everyone comes with their own ending. <p>Finally there is multiplayer including online which I guess is very important to a lot of people but to me? Not really. Mainly because when it comes to fighting games, they require precision timing and being in exact positions to pull of successful combos and you missing a punch which keeps your opponent juggled for to you to do you next combo could make the difference between winning and losing and getting a good control on the match I feel is impossible due to the lag that this game has. The only fighting game I’ve ever been able to play online is Tekken because I don't suffer too badly from lag there, even Brawl online was woeful, so asides me going to local tournaments or playing local multiplayer and the likes there isn't really a way of me getting better at this because the AI are extremely limited in fighting games and just come across as being cheap which ruins the fun. <p>All in all I found this game to be very fun and enjoyable especially learning about superheroes and villains that I didn't know too much about before like Shazam, that being said...Deathstroke...eurgh...I have problems against that guy what with his guns and him being impossible to approach normally. I definitely enjoyed this and I’d put it in the 80 to 90 out of hundred bracket if I were to do ratings and that but I don’t. Still, great game. <p>That’s about it for my Injustice review the next game I shall be playing is going to be Tomb Raider as in the 2013 edition but until then this is the Silver Assassin signing out, over and out.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-70887925059159711252013-05-08T21:17:00.001+01:002013-05-08T21:17:06.927+01:00Answering The Call of Duty<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:b2de0c1f-394c-4d2f-95a8-3b59dd468078" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="cd8dc03a-d821-40dc-b1fb-5c4062d8d07e" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjgAGzk55xQ" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHYoSbQB-KwWE9tm0oO28xQinqdUVGknlRjPezyrvK2rHt5AV4rXeBi-41eTwwvbsDnOOERLAnpDEzsmmkcnO4ILSTEGy76GEwKkXEwIglXalvwg8_YBLCzHpWKLtAMvh5ovXBbsxyP8x5/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('cd8dc03a-d821-40dc-b1fb-5c4062d8d07e'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/sjgAGzk55xQ?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/sjgAGzk55xQ?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>I never liked Call of Duty, mainly because I felt I was no good at first person shooters, reason being is that I personally preferred the slow calculated approach and working as a team which Left 4 Dead certainly promoted whereas games like Call of Duty, there was nothing but an influx of lone wolves. In playing Black Ops 2 at times I was like "alright guys you've shown you're awesome by getting a 31-3 kill death ratio now can you please help us capture some flags, pick up tags, set the bomb whatever or however it is you <i>actually </i>win the game?" <p>Don't get it misconstrued as I am not one of those people that say “I only play the objective which makes me better than you even though my KDR is 13-29, it's your fault we lost” because I personally believe that a good team needs a mixture of people playing the objective and people that are slayers.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>I gave Black Ops 2 a go because why not, I had played Medal of Honor: Warfighter and loved that to bits even though at Eurogamer I was umm, I actually thought it was kind of generic, yeah me and Mikey thought it was kind of generic, I played Medal of Honor: Warfighter I loved that to bits especially the buddy system, that was awesome and it was just at a perfect pace, so it was like, so it was at a slow pace which personally I like but when it came to close quarter combat situations it was still fast, I’m not one of those people that complain about sponging bullets personally I actually prefer that than to the two hits you’re dead Call of Duty approach as you barely have any time to react. <p>That was still just a warm up just for first person shooters that’s why I played Medal of Honor and it was my first serious first person shooter on multiplayer, I don’t count the times like Timesplitters because that was local multiplayer which doesn’t count. <p>So what do I think about Call of Duty Black ops 2. Truth of the matter is that it's not that great, yeah I said it...now hold on Mikey I know what you're going to say, you’re going to say "so why do you play it all the time?" “Why don’t you play something else” which is an interesting question, I think the reason why I play it is that it is quite easy to pick up and get the hang of it, it’s quite accessible meaning you can get to grips with it easily and I know I have as opposed to other game where it takes an age to really get into it. <p>I don't really know what it is about it but bear in mind that this is still my first and probably last Call of Duty for a bit because I'm feeling exactly the same as I did last year with Fifa 12 and that was my game of choice throughout last year. Once I proclaimed myself king of Fifa 12 (sorry Kalid, Matt, Eamon, Lee you know this to be true) I moved on from that game and I effectively skipped out on Fifa 13, the only reason I got is because I remember Kalid had Fifa 13 and he wanted me to play against him and then play a bit of pro clubs, I really was not feeling Fifa 13 but he wanted to play so I was just like “okay fine I’ll go and get it”, so I went out and got it, came back same day but yeah I just don’t play it, other than all the times where he asks me “oh do you want to play pro clubs oh do you want to play a match” that’s it I don’t really play it of my own choice. <p>Anyway back to Call of Duty, the game is flawed but that's not to say it's not enjoyable at times, of course it's better when you're playing with your friends and such but that doesn't happen much often anymore especially as Mikey gets frustrated at the game a lot of the times which can be quite amusing actually. It's a shame he played with me when I was still getting to grips with the game because I’m a lot better now meaning it would be a lot more fun for him when we team up I imagine. <p>Multiplayer is the one I stick to and playing by yourself can be frustrating especially while you may not care about winning, I know I don't really but that's more to do with the fact that there are so many factors out of my control like random team mates, that’s the big one. You might not care if you win but tell me where is the fun in being dominated in Domination time and time again, where is the fun in being spawn camped so hard that you end up dying a good two seconds right after you spawned? It sure isn't fun being quick scoped relentlessly by a group of 5 people all using sniper rifles on a map like Hijacked, I mean really? Hijacked? IT’S A BOAT! <p>Speaking of the maps, they’re not really that much better either, while it may seem like I hate Hijacked, I can live with that because every first person shooter needs a small chaotic map, just to let people unwind and I've accepted that Hijacked is Black Ops 2's version of a small chaotic map and rather than hate it like some people have I've just embraced it and every time that map is on I just have fun and let loose however, Carrier, Aftermath, Turbine and Yemen, I detest them with the fiery intensity of a thousand suns. The only decent maps in the game I feel are Raid, Standoff and Slums (Grind, Encore and Vertigo can be great at times) <p>Anyway for my first Call of Duty I certainly like to think I've picked it up quite well and gotten the hang of it and all its nuances. It's still a flawed game and in all honesty I would rather play Medal of Honor: Warfighter and I really enjoyed that however it was very limited in comparison to Call of Duty but it just did so many things better. <p>Once you like past its flaws and all that, it’s still a game where you can just enjoy yourself, good to unwind, good time waster but every now and then you’ll get placed into a match where the lag is just so bad or the other team is just spawn camping you and that it just completely ruins your enjoyment of the game, in other games I guess it’s the same but Call of Duty just has it worse perhaps due to its popularity. <p>Anyway this is the Silver Assassin signing out, over and out</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-78856013633713264412013-05-05T11:01:00.001+01:002013-05-05T11:01:26.824+01:00Finally…a Return To The WWE<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:7324d124-8492-4730-8848-d47edbe51bd1" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="308e83a2-5c9f-4581-8c4e-9d14a5bdb85a" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlVHRY3Duwg" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiranNI045Vl_inzZBnLogo6lVwUNy3q86SdHzCf_pA9v6PAgmhK1LYNB7sgFGQuQmBICkxqmp3Rof_LxcEwFVKM_FT9dJDFeY3Ii9Bvqyf8auo_kwL2M3k_lK6jCIl0LDfNFfjyif4SxGm/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('308e83a2-5c9f-4581-8c4e-9d14a5bdb85a'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/YlVHRY3Duwg?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/YlVHRY3Duwg?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div></div> <p>So professional wrestling eh? Yeah I watch that. <p>I started watching wrestling probably a tiny bit before the whole Attitude era but I can't say I would remember a lot of it. What I'd used to do was watch WCW on Friday night on TNT I think it was with my dad until bed time and then record the rest and watch the Saturday morning before going to Saturday school or when I wasn't going there before WWF as it was called back then came on Sky. <p>I used to watch these religiously and would never miss a show, I never watched the PPV as we could never afford to buy them so I relied on those still images you'd get the Smackdown/Raw after and I'd work out what happened from that.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>It was a big thing in the playground but a craze, like how Pokémon were, how Tamigotchis were, or those aliens in goo that could apparently breed with each other were......yeah...anyway despite the shows insistence to "Please do not try this at home" we still wrestled in the playground. Obviously none of us were strong enough to do actual suplexes but we just used our imagination for things like that. <p>Anyway we always used to wrestle whenever we get the chance and imitate what we saw on TV, I remember Kyle used to be the Rock, Trevor was Stone Cold and I used to want to be Mankind and boy I would actually take some of the bumps from the moves, I remember at one point I actually got pedigreed onto the concrete floor of the playground, oh boy I had a headache for days. <p>I suppose as I got older and went to a boarding school my opportunities to watch wrestling was very limited, heck I think during that whole spell I must have only tuned in to watch a show about 2 or 3 times and that as even then that was at Lee’s house. Thinking back on it I think I may have missed a great era but ah well you can’t change the past. <p>So why did I get back into it? Well as anything if you don’t really have people with similar interest then it is kind to hard maintain interest in it if there’s no-one to really talk to about it but I guess this is where Dean comes in. I found out he liked wrestling and that got me back into it and coincidently WrestleMania was the next PPV and the main event was going to be The Rock vs John Cena so I guess you could say The Rock got me back into wrestling as I already knew who John Cena was, seen him a couple of times didn’t like him but I knew that he was…the main star in a way. <p>If anything what I’ve just explained there was probably a good advertisement for all these part-timers coming back at the big shows like this but I still have my issues with that but maybe that's for another entry. <p>Anyway so my first PPV I watched live would have been WrestleMania 28 and then I've taken to watching it wherever I can and it's almost a year since I've gotten back into it and I'm glad for that. <p>Deano and Mickey are the people I talk to the most about wrestling news but there are fair few others who share the same interest and are great to talk to about it. I think about it and it makes me think how dependent on where you are people have a lot more shared interests than you may think. <p>Anyway I'll post a fair bit about my opinions on WWE, TNA or whatever but in the meantime, take care until next time. Answer: Because of this. Yes ladies and gentlemen the Samba Magician is now a two time back to back EDF Champion. And this comes a week after getting this runners up medal after being beat 7-0 in that final but let's reflect on the positive stuff <p>I like to think that feeling extremely hyped up for the match and woooo, that was crazy, I like to think that that contributed to that first 45 minutes where myself and the rest of the team went in hard.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>I'm not going to lie but I knew we were winning this from the get-go, we had played this team before and it wasn't going to be much different asides us wanting to get the job done in 90 minutes rather than let it drag on like we did last time we face. Of course the early goal would be crucial to this and boy did I deliver...a simple lofted through ball from yours truly split open the defence and was played into the path of Dayo who well, umm one on one with the keeper? Yeah he scored. 1-0 <p>So here we were firmly in control, shutting them down from defence, playing some beautiful football with some sublime passing, Ali connected with one of my corners and almost scored, Phil kept whipping in some daaaaangerous corners himself inside that box, how we never scored from one of them I'll never know. <p>Both of the wings saw action as previously in our matches it was very lopsided as to how we conducted our attack. Everything about that first half just seemed perfect and of course yours truly enjoyed slithering like a snake through the tightest of spots and hassling their defence. <p>But that was the first half, the second wasn't quite so stellar, we uh....heh, we were still in control a lot of the times but we reaaaally could have done without letting them get back into it...Twice. We were exposed by playing a high line at that point and a throug ball was played to Ben who then utilised his pace and no-one could catch up and he made no mistake from there. <p>We restored our lead by Duncan Stevenson who received the ball on the right wing as he had gone up because we had a freekick so he was in the general vicinity at the time and after the freekick he was in possession of the ball on the right, he did a little feint to beat his man, crossed in a glorious ball which Dayo leaped into the air and headed firmly into the net to score his second of the day, that goal was pretty cool as it's not often we actually cross balls into the box and then score from them so that was a scene seldom seen <p>Right after that goal came a comedy of errors where following a throw in or corner of some sort, this guy should have cleared the ball, didn't so the opposition touched it but it went the other way and the defender kicked it out, ricochet of ten billion people or something along those lines and then bounced off our player for an own goal <p>So here we were in the exact same situation as last time face 2-2 and the match approaching extra time when I think Johnny Neal kicked the ball in the air what in landed in the opposition area...and as if letting the ball bounce in their own area wasn't bad enough the goalkeeper somehow missed catching the ball in the air and let it bounce over him...at least that's how I think it happened, it was such a blur really, what I do know is that Matt would have never let that happen. <p>Dayo happened to just be lurking in that area at the time tapped in the easiest goal ever to secure his hat-trick...Did you know that the Samba Magician has never scored a hat-trick in a proper match which vexes me greatly but I'm hoping to rectify that next season so watch this space <p>All in all I greatly enjoyed that match even though the tackles on me were a bit extreme but it meant I was doing something right if they had to resort to that, only annoyance is that with all the crunching tackles they were committing, I got booked myself for persistent fouling but hey at least it's better than dissent. It felt good though us going there and we just as we just eviscerated them...I just wanted to use that word eviscerate just because as of late people have been misusing that word, well maybe not misusing it but it definitely doesn't mean what they think it means. It's also like literally what with how most people I know like to misuse the literally and believe me it happens...a lot. <p>But anyway I'm not here to give you an English lesson, I'm here to tell you that, I am the Samba Magician...accept no substitutes.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-55702206279370502162013-04-26T21:41:00.001+01:002013-04-26T21:44:05.903+01:00King Lawliet<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:fac079cd-849e-4544-b13a-2eaee3f75f36" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="103f8a6c-ab29-4a12-a3d2-1a7d90b01e0d" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjtDuTERfPQ" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUgx5ECVmbxR6Hj4_LsDuymz38sHLU2tWq4Oyaj-BafREYNCoySBE4XnhdXPHtaToCZsrJ-wvJjUo7KMAHbWWRKAsOOpuZWpUfIscZEHHB5CbJuOGRSK9YLvQsgftfvXmqfTYWkVWhA2HG/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('103f8a6c-ab29-4a12-a3d2-1a7d90b01e0d'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/KjtDuTERfPQ?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/KjtDuTERfPQ?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div><div style="width:448px;clear:both;font-size:.8em">Introducing King Lawliet</div></div> <p>Anime and manga is also something that interests me greatly, again a lot of this is probably due to the fact that I watched a fair few as a child, you know the regular ones like Pokémon...oh Pokémon, still love it to bits now, probably the games more than the actual show or anything but still.</p> <p>Then you had your Dragonball Z which was huge, I think everybody must have watched that at some point. Goku was probably the most popular character but since I tend to have an aversion to main characters he was anything but that to myself. Oh noo no noooo, my favourite back then was Trunks or to be more accurate Future Trunks, guy had a badass sword when he entered the scene and pretty much took down Frieza in one go, something that Goku and the prince of Saiyans Vegeta himself couldn't do, speaking of Vegeta now I'd probably say he is my favourite now, maybe I'll go into more later but moving on.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p>There was also Yu-Gi-Oh! the game with the most complex rules in mankind, at times I must have wondered if they were making this up as they go along but who cared as the show was still awesome with the characters being a decent bunch but made even more awesome by Yu-Gi-Oh! abridged. Anyone who has ever seen the abridged series will know exactly what I'm talking about when I talk about the Brooklyn raaaaage! It really is advisable to watch it if you ever been a fan of the main show as it's super special awesome.</p> <p>There was a bunch of other anime I watched such as Tenchi Muyo, Gundam Wing was also on Toonami but I don't think I particularly watched that. But I never really considered it a thing</p> <p>I wanted to watch more anime and read more manga last year and I think I was at my local library and I noticed they had an anime section and I saw Dragonball Z there and I thought no that's cool but what really caught my eye what which saga it was as I had seen all of the episodes except the majority of the Majin Buu saga so here I was in the library standing in front of a book that was about to give me some closure as to how it all ended when I decided to make use of my membership and borrow and read each volume.</p> <p>After being satisfied I decided to see what else they had and the next thing that catches my eye was Death Note, of course I knew nothing about it but I borrowed the first 3 volumes of it and OH MY GOSH the psychological battles between L and Light were nothing short of immense! Loved it to bits that I actually went and bought the entire collection and I've not looked back on that ever since.</p> <p>The premise is pretty simple if you're wondering what it's about, basically there is a notebook with the rule that if you write a person's name in it, they will die and a very idealistic boy called Light gets his hands on the notebook and it just goes from there.</p> <p>From Death Note I was also recommended another series to watch/read which was Fullmetal Alchemist (the Brotherhood anime) and then I just pretty much got serious and kept trying out new manga and anime wherever I could.</p> <p>Fullmetal Alchemist is probably my favourite manga series and the anime is pretty good as well, greatly enjoyed it from start to finish and part of my King Lawliet username is taken from Fuhrer King Bradley, the other is taken from Death Note obviously</p> <p>It was last year though I went to my first expo on the advice of Deano, the MCM expo in the Excel centre and good grief the things my eyes were opened to there colourful and loud displays there, the shared interests of the people there, it truly was an amazing experience. I look forward to going again this May and October hoping with more people so they too can share my experience there.</p> <p>So that's the first entry of my King Lawliet series and you can probably no doubt guess what it'll be about, I'll update this from time to time especially when I'm starting out and finishing new series, anyway until next time King Lawliet out.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-45195558023144311912013-04-26T17:23:00.001+01:002013-04-26T17:23:25.537+01:00The Silver Assassin<p> <div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:4d15a9ee-bbd6-40b4-8667-c447080b8bd2" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="4a9f6e83-e691-4dab-822a-98129683a38d" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVsS0KZ8hHM" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6LLFDw9fppNvX4ziZiDyQwvnAiIGhJh8CM1l8vFmikQglPwI3go5-qZ9WaxbFr2gcKb4VC53YZz8esIcVWOMsiAJ_FsBN4H7X5wTlqccgADIso5bdS8OpGKXR62tbAvEWoLzTAE-VTHE0/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('4a9f6e83-e691-4dab-822a-98129683a38d'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/EVsS0KZ8hHM?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/EVsS0KZ8hHM?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div><div style="width:448px;clear:both;font-size:.8em">Introducing the Silver Assassin</div></div></p> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">So welcome to the first episode of my Silver Assassin series where the topic is pretty much about videogames</font></font></h6> <h6><br><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">First, a little background, because you never forget your very first I'll start with that, my very first console would have been the Sega Mega Drive and my very first game would have been Kid Chameleon and oh how I loved that game, I used to play on it for ages and I never did actually finish the game properly when I was younger as it was quite difficult, plus the game was like a multi path platformer game meaning that there were different routes you could go which meant you'd get different levels and it would just all be branching off in different directions. If you've ever played the game you'll know the feeling of trying the remember which path it was that DIDN'T lead to...Bloody Swamp...Many a game has been ended on that very level.</font><br></h6></font> <a name='more'></a> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Anyway, I had plenty of other games such as Sonic 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Fifa 97 (yep, the one with the indoor 5-a-side, how Electronic Arts has not brought that back yet in the newer ones I'll never know), Street Racer, Revenge of the Shinobi, Streets of Rage I and II and many many more.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Also alongside that I had the original Gameboy which I enjoyed the likes of Kirby's Dream Land, Tetris, Super Mario Land, the first one and the Six Golden coins sequel, Pokémon Blue (because I wanted to be different as everyone else got Red which is fine as I preferred my Vulpix and Bellsprout over Growlithe and Oddish)</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Anyway after the Mega drive it was the PS1 which the list of games is numerous that I'm not going to go through it all but what I will say is the times I had playing all sorts on there were amazing. I remember saving up to get Final Fantasy 7 because I had been reading about it in magazines and to this day along with Final Fantasy IX it is probably one of my favourite games of all time</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Another fond memory I have is my dad asking me what game I wanted and at the time I really really wanted both Crash bandicoot 3 and Die hard Trilogy but of course I told him to get me either Crash Bandicoot 3 and if that wasn't available (seeing as it was sold out in a lot of shops near me) to get Die Hard Trilogy and then later on that day I was surprised when he came home with both of them, one of my fondest memories.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">So moving on, when the next generation of consoles came out I opted to go for the GameCube seeing as I was a huge fan of Nintendo from the game boy, game boy advance and throughout that whole handheld stage but I had never owned a Nintendo console...yes yes I know, I missed out on the likes of Goldeneye, Super Mario World and Zelda games but ah well. </font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">So I had gotten the GameCube as it was the cheapest of the lot between the PlayStation 2 and Xbox and I was in school at the time so money didn't come easily at that time. There were a bunch of fun games I played the obvious being Super smash brothers melee which playing at school with a group of friends made for very intense battles especially when we had a loser passes the pad rule and we just wanted to stay on. The same applied to Mario Kart Double Dash (which by the way would be my first Mario Kart), oh the times we got angry because of a blue shell or getting hit by lightning when making a jump it was hilarious though.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I did move on and sell the GameCube to get a PS2 when it was at a more affordable price though, no need to really go through what was played then especially with sooo many great games like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Pro Evolution Soccer and just the old classics really.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">As for this generation I started off with the Nintendo Wii for one reason and one reason only, Super Smash Brawl and it's most likely going to be the reason why I'll get the Wii U, I love that game, another of my all-time favourites. I'll concede that Melee was the better game and to be fair it probably was but the fan service and things to collect in Brawl was ridiculous, I got soo much enjoyment out of this game.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal">Also played Mario Kart in the wait for Brawl as that got delayed and plenty of others like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Zack and Wiki that was quite fun, surprisingly I never played Super Mario Galaxy but I hope to rectify that sooner or later</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I still have the Wii but that's kind of gathering dust, maybe when I have a lot more time on my hands I'll play all the gems on it especially as they'll be at a decent price.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal">I also have a PS3 but I don't touch that either really, I've actually only played Fifa on it and that was pretty much the reason I got it, to play Matt on it and to prove that I was the king. It...err...didn't work as well as I originally wanted but I think I got my point across.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I also have Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid the Fourth but they still have been unopened, I'll get round to it at some point. </font><font style="font-weight: normal">The console I play the most would be the Xbox 360, gamertag is Samba Magician feel free to add me if you would like. I originally wanted Silver Assassin as that's what I use for anything video game related but alas...it was in use so I had to settle for my football moniker.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I am loving my Xbox, I got it because of Left 4 Dead And Fifa 09 and they have entertained me for many an hour, the Xbox is the console that I play the most these days and I've built up quite the library of games, before in the Ps1 era I sell some games to buy other games and then from time to time I'd want to play one of the games I've sold but I couldn't. Mikey you know the exact situation I'm talking about.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal">Though I refuse to buy a game twice as I may as well have kept the first time rather than paying for it twice albeit at a reduced price later on</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Right now it's the Xbox I'm currently playing the most especially trying to boost your achievements. I liked achievements I'm someone who reason play the hell of a game, saturate everything I can from it before moving on then that way I don't have to come back to it. That's why I like achievements as a lot of the times there's a definite answer to it.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font style="font-weight: normal" size="2">Anyway I've rambled long enough for an introduction, pretty much I'm enjoying the whole video game scene now as there are many great games I've played and want to play. Time is scarce these days but I still try and make time for my favourite hobby.</font></h6> <h6><br><font style="font-weight: normal" size="2">This is the Silver Assassin signing out, over and out</font></h6> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-36045426995598079382013-04-24T19:20:00.000+01:002013-04-24T19:21:08.458+01:00The Samba Magician<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:5785b460-b915-42c0-81bc-b7ba08236198" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="abc41fcb-b4a1-4887-a314-7168d6463c94" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIzXCCWOpW4" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm2swWo5R_ScloRzdIH_sy_28H4JHKj64tnjFJ-DMy2GyO80LNv623EtKdJHcmjNC1ZfQS0LrvLDTss5RoIN3TQuK1gfNYb0jkFd1rWap45VgQDhVYZfi-8x_9jtGtBQOgNsMw_8M267s1/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('abc41fcb-b4a1-4887-a314-7168d6463c94'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/EIzXCCWOpW4?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/EIzXCCWOpW4?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div><div style="width:448px;clear:both;font-size:.8em">Introducing The Samba Magician</div></div> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Ladies and gentlemen, you are now in the presence of a true visionary, the one the only, the Samba Magician. Why the Samba Magician? Quite simply because I have skills like a Brazilian and tricks like a magician.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I started off playing football at a young age as you do in the school playground with all your friends and I have really fond memories of my time there such as how we used to do the day after a champions league, the Manchester United supporters vs everyone else. So we'd have like Manchester United vs Juventus or Man U vs Barcelona with of course everyone who didn't like Man U on the Juventus/Barcelona side. The same applied for the Arsenal supporters because back then no-one cared about Chelsea or Liverpool because quite frankly if you didn't support Arsenal or Manchester United other you were a nobody.</font><br></font></h6> <a name='more'></a> <h6><font size="2"></font> </h6> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">I also have other memories like I remember a time when the year 5 would play matches against the Year 6s and I was in year 4 but there was potential for me to be involved in this because for one reason or another the year 5s did not have enough players so 3 boys from the Year 4 class would get involved and oh how I was excited that I might take part as this was a pretty big deal back then.</font><br></h6><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font> <h6><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Anyway, I remember sitting in that classroom when they came in to make the announcement and I was not chosen and that disappointed me and it's stuck with me every time I play football. I always make sure that I'm in an undroppable position because I want to help the team win and I feel I would be better on the pitch because I feel more involved.</font></font></h6><font size="2"> <h6><br><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Don't be fooled by this arrogant demeanour, I'm really just a "shy guy" so it was kind of tough on me when I had to move to a different school slap bang in the middle of year 8 but anyway here I was in this boarding school very apprehensive and getting used to my surroundings when I see that there is football on the all weather pitch...well it wasn't really an awp, more like a slab of concrete that grinded knees and ended careers...not like that stopped me...</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6></font><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">Anyway! So here I was on this pitch just doing my regular thing, a man possessed and it was quite a lot of fun, at one point I did slip up and fall backside into a puddle but that didn't deter others and people commented on my football in a positive manner and I made a fair few friends and it was good times, had a pretty decent football career which maybe I'll get into another time.</font></font></h6><font size="2"> <h6><br><font size="2"><font style="font-weight: normal">So what's become of the glorious magician now? Well right now I'm playing for Charlton Athletic Deaf Football Club and have been for...quite some time and it has its good times and bad times but overall I'd say I really do enjoy playing for them and the people there are a cool bunch. Again there's more I should say but I'll leave that for another time.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal">Right now I'm enjoying my game and there's always room for improvement so I suppose this is chronicling my journey there to the high life.</font><br><font style="font-weight: normal"></font></font></h6> <h6></font><font style="font-weight: normal" size="2">Ladies and gentlemen I am the Samba Magician, accept no substitutes.</font></h6> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-10684173295450926162013-04-23T20:06:00.001+01:002013-04-23T20:06:30.908+01:00The Introduction<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:2c246577-3d28-41fc-ab1e-8b4fc9ca283a" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="4f373d47-96f0-4099-901a-b00fe6a22ff4" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyeDbHgM21Y" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgia-deHcUYyBTT7Dwm3dseKTP4XAj0JgKFZR1AqRq_AC7dMsIj2r-jT2YZZZ_RfGFFaHvjAZ9cIrj5e39DOz7260iUH5QGnfNyHXV3Fpfa3S5AnjiIT12vnOP0gIjAgsnKqbU9zIZr5I41/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('4f373d47-96f0-4099-901a-b00fe6a22ff4'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/MyeDbHgM21Y?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/MyeDbHgM21Y?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div><div style="width:448px;clear:both;font-size:.8em">My introduction to my While I'm Still Sane series</div></div> <p>It took a while but I've finally gotten round to doing this video blog and I wanted to do this because it was something I wanted to just try my hand at. <p>I've always had many different interests and have always wanted to try new things as I get bored a fair bit and wanted to experience many things. I guess right now this video log was what I really wanted to do. <p>My name is Jason and as I mentioned earlier I have many different interests such as football, video games, manga, wrestling, music, all sorts so this really is what this will be about, everything and anything. So then, one thing that I wanted to mention was that this would my view and opinions on things and that's really why you'd be watching this as that's one thing that kind of stopped me from doing this in the past as I didn't really like saying stuff unless it was worth saying and that for a lot of things I always felt that there are better sources of knowledge on a particular subject so if you want the best information on a particular topic then you’re better off getting it from someone who is more in the know as all you’d get from me is opinion. <p>Quite frankly this is still how I feel but I'm not going to let that stop me from doing all this because it'll help me in more ways than one. I wanted to have somewhere to record my experiences so that I can look back on a later date and then see how much I've progressed...or regressed if that's the case. I do this with my personal blog that I have...oh yeah for those that don't know I have a personal blog called ‘While I'm Sane’. While it hasn't really been updated as of late, maybe I should get back to doing that too...anyway my point was I was looking back through some of the posts I made in the 2010 to 2011 years and I see them and I think 'man, those were some pretty dark posts' I was in a really dark place then. And to be fair I was, I can remember an instance where I would have thrown myself out the window and the drop would have been huge but I suppose I caught myself when I realised that the window didn't open wide enough. And don't get me started about the times I would drift off when I was about to cross the road and I'd see a huge lorry or bus coming and just...think...or when a train was coming. <p>Anyway I didn't mean to take this depressing turn, all I really wanted to say is that when you look back at those times and then reflect on yourself now you'll realise how much you've changed your mentality and attitude and that’s why I do this “diary” as it helps to better yourself by not repeating the mistakes of my past. <p>Anyway, for those that know me and are watching this maybe you'll find out something about me that you never knew before, who knows. <p>So this is my first video in which I hope explains what I am trying to do and why I'm doing all this. Hopefully you'll be there for my next upload but in the meantime this is Jason signing off so take care.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-82356603303318892102013-04-22T11:50:00.001+01:002013-04-22T11:50:51.112+01:00The Prologue<div id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:70502b72-a2bb-4e48-a611-5b74b98d5c6c" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" style="float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px"><div id="a2f4b784-4ea2-4231-b8ab-b955845cccc9" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;"><div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coN4Zqq7xDU&feature=youtu.be" target="_new"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-rfzJ1mKT7u1X64cIXrvh9DywHxO8_E0oJa0p_bwLYyU__yxp8VmxmhorW8Fj-OPLYCHrKPtwDWa9HW4ITAlkD2YyEvlh_8errf26qXjl6WMNrofCTQGlxHCqMyen4JPiI29Vmzwq1aAI/?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('a2f4b784-4ea2-4231-b8ab-b955845cccc9'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "<div><object width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/coN4Zqq7xDU?hl=en&hd=1\"><\/param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/coN4Zqq7xDU?hl=en&hd=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"448\" height=\"252\"><\/embed><\/object><\/div>";" alt=""></a></div></div><div style="width:448px;clear:both;font-size:.8em">While I’m Sane: Dairy of Me Prologue</div></div> <p>So I finally got one done, sorry about the quality but I just wanted to get one out just at least get started.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-35829644453335399042013-02-05T00:01:00.001+00:002013-02-05T00:01:34.510+00:00What are you waiting for?<p>Really need to stop putting off doing these vlogs or podcasts, I should just go for it</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-69771092345380901242013-01-04T03:09:00.001+00:002013-01-04T03:09:42.043+00:002012 awards<p>Ahh 2012 is now done and dusted and we move onto 2013 and as usual I had my <a href="http://mrjmhernandez.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/2011-awards.html" target="_blank">favourite picks from the year that past</a> and this year is no exception. <p>This is my top 50 songs of this year, this was somewhat difficult for me to do as I wasn’t doing a “best” list but rather a “favourite” one. No seriously. <p>Anyway today we had a cup game against AFC Mottingham, for those of you who don't know about this team they have no shortage of what we'd call "scum" in their ranks and I shall explain why in a bit. <p>The match started out as a bit of a shaky affair, they were pressurising us a lot but it was no cause for concern as it's a recurring theme with teams who face us and aren't very good. Play fast and furious for the start and ruffle the other team's feathers early to mask the lack of stamina in your own team. So all we had to do was to be patient as I knew that the last half hour in the game would be crucial as that's when they'll be exposed as the unfit team that they are. <p>Things didn't quite go to plan as we conceded quite early on as miscommunication rears its ugly head and Ryan and Tommy failed to deal with what should have been a simple clearance leading to Mottingham scoring in an open goal quite clearly putting a spanner in the works. <p>The second goal came from a penalty which was from a clumsy tackle from Phil but I do not begrudge him for this as he is inexperienced in the left back role and I suppose will gain the experience and get better judgement of when to attack for the ball or to stand them off. <p>The penalty however was one that was actually poorly taken, they had already made clear their intentions to blast the ball so all that was required was to save the shot that was clearly going in the middle but that couldn't be managed. Suffice to say, that was disappointing. <p>So here we were, two-nil down but cracks were clearly showing in the other team, they could not pass the ball like we could, they did not have a dominant and imposing figure in the middle that could control the game like we did. The only time I got worried was when we starting to play a little desperate and stopped playing short balls and were all over the place and lost our shape but those moments were few and in between. <p>The second half was maybe a little better however I did have a few concerns at how slow we were to move the ball from the back. I get a little nervous when our centre backs and full backs get the ball simply because there is usually little room for error and past experience has shown me that when put into a pressure situation like that the right decision isn't always made. <p>I am a firm believer in that if myself, William and Ryan are playing in the middle then we should always have the ball the majority of the times when we want to attack therefore we should quickly give the defence an option to get the ball to us as quick as possible so we can do our job and supply the ammunition for our attacking forces. <p>So in the second half they scored after what should have been a routine save from a long shot somehow squirmed underneath our goalkeeper to give them a three-nil lead. Yep, this clearly inferior team were winning by 3 goals because of us, not because they were decent or anything but because we gave them all three goals. <p>We got a goal back when William decided to dribble straight from kickoff after their goal and somehow Mario had placed it in the back of the net to cut their celebrations short but not only that they had managed to get a player sent off to make harder work for them as their lack of stamina was now beginning to show. <p>Mario got us a second and a third goal to bring the score back to 3-3 and they managed to get yet another player sent off in the process and thus the game went into extra time. <p>No-one could break through during it so it went to penalties which...well we lost. <p>If you made it this far...good for you, that was the match report, a little background information about what spurred this on and my utter disgust. <p>AFC Mottingham are the most disgusting team I’ve ever played and yes while it wasn’t everyone in their team so I apologise in advance for tarnishing them all with the same brush but you really aren’t that much better if you condone that sort of antics. Football………I grow tired and bored of it, I barely even watch it anymore as I’ve already been more interested in playing it than watching. I love playing it so much as there is nothing like executing a slick one-two or a piece of skill to amaze people, there is nothing like thinking 5 steps ahead of everyone else, knowing what will happen in a move, what you want to happen in a move and yet still being flexible enough to change at a moment’s notice when things do not exactly work out as planned. <p>Football is a game which it simply about getting the measure of your opponent and trying to score more goals than the opponent and that’s what things should be left to. So when threats are made, when people start essentially behaving like thugs and hooligans it spoils the fun for everyone else and if you are the sort of person that gets a thrill out of breaking someone’s ankle or leg in a game of football then…I pity you. <p>I feel sad and annoyed at how football has this sort of “laddish” culture towards it and people don’t display the proper amount of respect that anyone as a human being deserves. It’s sad how people can gain enjoyment over wanting to physically hurt another human being and using sport as your excuse where if you did that in the street that essentially is assault. Don’t get it misconstrued as I am not saying that no-one should tackle anyone as there is nothing wrong with a good tackle and I in fact really do appreciate a good challenge but when you are rushing in a 50/50 challenge at 100 miles an hour for a ball you have no chance of winning, what is the obsession with trying to just swing your foot and hit whatever you can? I’ve never understood that and while I don’t criticize referees as they do a tough enough job as it is. This is one thing I felt he should have been a bit tougher on as nobody should have to jump out the way of a reckless challen…assault, concede possession of the ball and then receive absolutely nothing for it. It worries me how little protection we get from teams who basically have thugs who want to kick and punch their way through ninety minutes of football. <p>The things such as threatening to break someone’s ankle after a game or even worse threatening to knock out a referee of all people simply because he didn’t like a decision, it’s sad how this is what passes as grassroots football, it’s sad how a team as violent and as scum as they were can proceed to the next round of a tournament, no doubt they will be reported and yet nothing will happen. <p>Vincent Kompany recently came out with a statement saying that at grassroots football racism is most prevalent during it which while that is indeed true I feel this whole racism issue as of late has been nothing but a buzzword for journalists and papers to sell their stories and to simply make money while not actually caring a bit for the actual issue on hand. The thing is at grassroots football the whole attitude stinks from racism to wanting to win matches to sportsmanship to respect. I really like playing football and it saddens me how more people at this level don’t really feel that way. <p>This is why England will not win anything, too much emphasis is given on physical and brute strength while not enough is on skill and technique of players and when you mix that in with the leniency that is shown to thugs and villains of the game all it does is create an environment where people with skill and talent get viciously kicked and harassed out of the game and then it just doesn’t become fun to play anymore and then become disillusioned and then they quit. Sure you can say that they do not have the character to rise against adversity and if their belief is strong they should keep pushing to achieve their goals and dreams but to that I say BULLSHIT! Complete and utter BULLSHIT! <p>Why should they have to constantly fight against the system? A system that should be set up to encourage talent, a system that should be set up to weed out stubborn players and to promote a positive way of thinking, a system that brings in players that want to win and enjoy football not to be violent and hurt people and get your enjoyment from that because then you are simply just in the wrong sport. In media everywhere such as films and TV shows we are constantly shown that good people get rewarded while the villains get punished, no doubt a lot of the times you will see the heroes of the story win at the end. Never has that been so false in football. <p>While I am only one man who doesn’t really have that much power to change anything, it really is time for a change.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-39426398472767066512012-08-25T01:57:00.001+01:002012-08-25T02:03:11.266+01:00Dodging bullets<p>Hohohoho, you bet I am going to use what happened recently as an entry and I don't see why not because you'd willingly talk about someone else and yet when someone does the same to you'd throw a fit, if there's something I can't stand it's hypocrisy and you quite frankly are the epitome of it. <p>The whole status situation was merely bad timing but I will not apologise for that because it was vague and it could have been about anyone. I am not going to apologise because YOU wanted to satisfy your curiosity and decided to ask me about it. The thing is I could have just avoided the topic altogether when you asked but I'm not going to lie when someone asks me something because I don't want to lie because people should just learn to live with the truth no matter how unpleasant than to live in a world of lies and deceit. <p>I also have no obligation to you anymore, I don't have to tell you what you want to hear anymore, you've got someone else for that now...oh wait no you don't anymore which brings me to the whole reason I actually put the status up, the whole reason why it was what I was thinking at the time, because you had already set your sights on someone else. </p> <a name='more'></a> <p>Really? I mean really? So soon? It just seems to me that as soon as you yourself are bored with someone, you yourself make no effort whatsoever to fix the problem or rather, the way you fix problems is to run away from it and constantly push everyone and everything away cumulating in you trying to run into the arms of the next person that interests you. <p>I have to say, I do understand what was meant by a certain someone when they said that you are a hard person to be friends with. Simply because you don't forgive, simply because with you no-one is allowed to make "mistakes", it just feels like walking on eggshells in your presence. <p>Say what you like about me, you can call me whatever "insults" you want but I at least know how to forgive people and to not hold anything they do wrong against them, this is not me “looking down” on them in any way but rather me overlooking their “flaws” as it is a part of who they are and me asking myself is this…“flaw” really such a big deal to me. I've done the same to you countless times. I suppose the one thing that sticks in my mind that really lowered my opinion of you was when earlier this year you asked me whether I’d always love you and whether I still do. Now, what kind of question is that? Why would you ask...nay, need to know something like that especially in the situation you were in? Curiosity or not it left a really bad taste in my mouth but you know what? I left it as that, even when I asked you why, you didn’t really give me an answer asides “I'm a bit of a bitch in many ways” <p>Anyway despite how it comes across here; I'm not bothered by the latest developments whatsoever, I was just making a point. I really am happy with my life, oh sure from time to time I may moan about certain aspects of my life and my mood just might be really low but what person is completely happy with their life, show me someone that is happy with everything in their life and I'll show you a liar. <p>Like I said, I've got it good, at least better than I thought I would have it, I’ve got a great job working with the greatest family ever and I’m glad to have known them along with my best friend who is a brilliant guy and incredibly funny, heck all my other friends are brilliant as well and I’d literally do anything for them because I love them that much. I don’t have any major troubling worries in my life, stuff gets paid, people get fed so I’ve not really got any reason to feel bad right now. <p>Look, life is too short and it’s far too short to be spent holding grudges and arguing with people and it is with this mentality that I have the strength to look forward whenever I feel down. It’s why I don’t do…or want to argue with people anymore. It’s why I reached out to you the first time and tried to be your friend because it was time to move on from the bitterness and yet I got nothing and it wasn’t until much later (which I suspect a certain someone had more to do with it than you did) did we even start talking again. <p>Now here we are in a similar situation to the last time we left on bad terms however this time I really am not going to chase after you to try and fix it because I did that last time and you threw it back in my face. I’m not saying you have to try and talk to me but what you’re essentially doing is behaving like a petulant child and then attempting to ignore me for as long as you can. Maybe it’s time you grew up a bit and then actually reached out to me so we can have a grown up conversation and maybe resolve all of this. <p>I know at some point and some way you <em>will</em> read this and if you don't reply then all you do is simply prove my point, then again you were never that good at seeing things from someone else’s point of view. <p>Sometimes all you need is a change of perspective.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-90545144872076396702012-07-30T10:22:00.000+01:002012-08-01T10:22:30.347+01:00Oh woooow<p>I love getting home at 1 am in the morning and having barely and days off…I love it…not</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-36478038697573239552012-07-23T22:28:00.001+01:002012-07-23T22:28:58.756+01:00Current frame of mind: Sunshine, rainbows and lollipops<p>It is a bright sunny day and it is also my day off at work, I quite enjoy it when the sun is shining on a clear blue day despite the heat especially when using public transport as it can become unbearable but I don't complain about the weather ever as that is something that really cannot be helped, if it rains it rains, if it snows it snows. I'm grateful for the summer sun as I know that when it's winter and cold I'm not really in the greatest of moods and because of such I have a strong preference towards the summertime. So the sun is shining right now and I should be happy but deep down I don't think I am. <p>I suppose the reason why I like the summer is because I've got more positive memories associated with the summer than I do with the winter but it seems that even now those memories can't really cheer me up anymore because that's what they are, just memories. <p>Right now I find myself thinking dark thoughts and it annoys me. It annoys me how I really should just be happy with what I have as it could be worse however it does little to comfort me, I still think these thoughts, feel how I do and I ask myself why? <p>I look at all the different factors in my life whether it's work, family, friends, love, sports, hobbies and I think to myself "what's wrong with it?" I don't think that it's either wrong or right to think like this but only that it is my current frame of mind right now, on another day I would and I <em>do</em> think of all the good things that I have going for me but this is not one of those days. <p>I've been thinking and I don't know what brought this on but whether I have been honest with myself throughout my entire life, whether I've done the best I could have done, whether I can be satisfied with anything I've done in my life so far and what purpose do I have right now. Maybe I'll work out the answer someday but for now all I can really do is analyse every part of my life and try and figure out what to do about it.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097029323570751635.post-3305643901625699482012-07-23T03:12:00.001+01:002012-07-23T03:12:03.389+01:00The bigger world<p>Hmm, I think…I think…I need to listen to people a lot more and ask them relevant questions. Just listen and ask, that is all I need to do.</p> Jason Mycrofthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17641621336029704484noreply@blogger.com0
