Revenge is a dish best served with…salad?

Revenge...oh revenge. The basis of so many stories over the years. The saying eye for an eye has been seen throughout history and inspired so many tales.

So what about it?

Well the thing is we all have our times when we feel wronged and that just punishment has not been served so we decide that retribution is needed and that we'll take it into our own hands but here's the thing, circles.

The whole revenge thing is just circles. Someone does wrong, the next person feels wronged and takes it upon themselves to dish out punishment and then the first person retaliates and dishes out their revenge and the cycle continues.

It's...sad that the only way to stop the cycle is to be the bigger person and not want revenge. Only because so often it seems like people who do "bad" things get away with it so often and the innocent person suffers in many ways.

I know real life examples of people being screwed over and it's even happened to myself quite a few times.

Maybe that's why people are religious and believe in the concept of an afterlife because they like to believe that good people get rewarded and bad people get punished but it just doesn't work like that. There is nothing.

So what is to stop people from doing bad things over and over again? Nothing really, just the fact that people believe in such...ideals of society and religion deters people from doing these things. Not me though, I don't need a reason such as that to do what I do. If I'm nice it's because I want to be. Nothing more, nothing less.
